Unlocking Your Consciousness

Unlocking Your Consciousness:
What is encoded in your consciousness?

As a child and throughout my life, I have felt out of place. Many of you probably feel the same way. Were we really born here? Is this really our home? I’m sure these questions sound familiar to some of you. If so, then you are the ones I want to speak to. As I am learning how to unlock my consciousness, I would like to help you as well as much as I can.

First of all, each person has many layers of consciousness like the layers of an onion. Those layers are constructed as one interacts with their surroundings and “learns” their world, which includes but is not limited to, the laws, the nature of the sequence of events, time, and acceptable mannerisms, etc. For example, Newton’s law of “what goes up must come down” is one of first things a baby learns. What I am speaking of is the cause and effect system. Like bouncing ideas in a mainframe of consciousness, when an idea hits a wall, it bounces back. Then, in this realm of consciousness, humans think that the idea was flawed and therefore wrong or impossible. And so it builds a system of limitations and layers of consciousness.

“Where there is a will, there is a way.” It has driven some insane to find the way, but there are no impossibilities. Impossibilities are not in our encoding. I remember as a child, hearing the adults in church marveling over Moses getting water from a rock. I remember thinking, “Why is that so surprising?” It took me many years, even into adulthood to comprehend how “water from a rock” is supposed to be a “miracle.” I had the same thoughts about many other “miracles” as well, such as Jesus walking on the water and the parting of the Red Sea. Those events just didn’t seem all that miraculous. That is because those limitations are not encoded in my consciousness.

Personal Examples:

Many of you may fly in your dreams. As a child, I wanted to fly so desperately. I would run and jump on my bed over and over. I got to the point where I could “fly” for about 8 feet, always softly landing on my bed.

Not too many years ago, I was in a store. It was crowded, and I wanted to get out of there. The idea hit me to fly over the people. I lifted up, and then realized that I couldn’t get off the ground. Then I realized, “Oh yeah, I can’t fly.” But, you see, the limitation in my consciousness is not there. It seems so natural for me to think that. Why?

As a child in elementary school, I would climb the walls of the bathroom, yes walls. No one told me that I couldn’t. So, I found a way. By putting one foot on one wall, and another foot on the opposite wall, I simply walked up the walls, until my back was flat against the ceiling and my arms dangled down.

Recognizing the Layers:
Remembering who we are is a really important step to liberation from this plane of existence. Those layers of consciousness must be sifted through like peeling the layers of an onion: some of it stinks! A major key to untangling all that has been “learned” is to quit lying. People lie to themselves to the point that they don’t even realize it. People need to remember who they are!

I have learned through the years some of the levels. I will list them, but this is by no means the absolute list for everyone. Some people may have more layers (bigger onions); and some of these things that I list may not even apply to some of you. (By the way, this is takes work, lots of patience and introspection.)

1. Fear of exposure.

2. Guilt & more fear of exposure.
*Shame seems to be pervasive--in varying amounts—on nearly every level of the onion. This is especially true when a person realizes all the many ways that they lie to themselves. That in turn brings on some levels of shame of self. Even if no one else knows your thoughts, many times you may get mad at yourself after realizing how you have lied to yourself on certain issues. Just keep going through it. In the end, there is no need to fear or feel any shame!

3. Denial & Disobedient behavior to the natural encoding of your consciousness.
It causes inner struggles and blocks spiritual flow.
People are often more worried about “doing the right thing.” Yet, the “right thing” varies from culture to culture and from region to region and religion to religion, etc. Don’t be afraid to do and say what you want. Find out what is natural for you, not for everyone else. Forget them!

4. Fanciful ideas.
This layer is like a Leprecon that acts distort sound reasoning and attempts to stop any further movement inwards.
Although wishful thinking and the realm of possibilities is a wide-open ground in the end, I caution anyone who stops at this point. If you do, you will live in a fairy tale world of your imagination only, never evidencing anything. Therefore, my advice is “skepticism can be your best friend.”

5. Delicate balance.
Here comes a step of balancing and weighing. Sort through, in your own perception, was is real and not real according to your comfort level. You may experience some fear, guilt and frustration. Get past those uni-corny ideas or alien rapture types, and evaluate your environment. Use a lot of logic. Start to ask questions. And think about the things around you and what makes sense or not. If it doesn’t “jive” in your being, ponder why. Open your eyes to look around you and allow for free thinking.

6. Stop lying to yourself.
Don’t settle for something that doesn’t make sense to YOU!
You were given all the knowledge YOU needed to know yourself before you were born. No one else has that key. Therefore, the philosophers, preachers, and even me, cannot help you. If an idea or concept doesn’t make sense and you can’t understand the language of it, then apparently it isn’t part of you. Otherwise, it would come naturally to you. This portion is about finding your Tao, so to speak. Don’t try to fit a square peg into a round hole. What makes sense to YOU? Weed through the dogma. And think about what you were born with. What knowledge were you given? I know that I was not born with the knowledge of history or any religion.

7. Solids into a liquid state.
This is a bizarre point. It is a place that you may or may not experience on your journey at different times in smaller amounts. Some people begin seeing this realm through synchronicities, which are only a tiny and elementary level of this particular layer of consciousness. However, it is important to be careful and pay attention to those things. It establishes a new basis of reality; whereby we see things as they are and not as they are withheld from view.

This realm of existence is being trapped in our imagination like a dream. And of course, it is the mission to go into the waking world. Many people think that they are awake, but are not. A person’s desire has to be strong at this level. One must follow not only their heart but also strive hard to reach through this state of “matter” (which is NOT a solid). Remember Jesus mentioned somewhere in the Gnostic texts about a man being able to reach his hand into a wall. He meant that literally.

I have some advice for you all who may enter or are at this stage. Be careful. Be very careful. I almost died over two years ago by thinking that I could do something that I wasn’t ready for.

8. Repeat Step 5 over and over.

“The Mystic Quest: An Introduction to Jewish Mysticism” by David S. Ariel, pages 20~21

The parable being explained comes from a passage in the Talmud (Hagigah 14b and/or Tosefta Hagigah 2:1).

“Akiva warned his colleagues that when they achieve a vision of the entranceway to the sixth palace, they are likely to be deceived: ‘When you come to the stones of pure marble, do not say, ‘Water, water!’’ Rabbi Akiva meant by this to warn his colleagues that they should respect the limits to which the mystical imagination can reach. In their visionary state they might see great boulders obstructing the entrance to the chamber of the king. Rabbi Akiva admonishes them not to trust their imagination for it might deceive them into believing that these awesome obstacles to the last palace are really fluid and not solid barriers. He warns them not to proceed beyond these limits and not to enter where they are not permitted.”
